The Christmas period is often a popular time for the wedding business. And it is a lovely time of the year. With a lovely festive feel still going on a couple of days after Christmas day. And I think I have certainly photographed the odd Christmas Wedding at Vienna Woods.
Niamh & Patrick’s Wedding at Vienna Woods was held during Christmas week. I was fresh off the plane from visiting the in-laws and got right back into the spirit of things. And with that Christmas mood still in the air, it brings a nice feeling to work.
Things kicked off at Niamh’s parents house, with the usual hive of activity pre wedding. Right away, I got down to candidly capturing the goings on there And it was a busy house that morning. This makes form some great pictures.
Heading to Vienna Woods, Patrick was meeting and greeting guests as they flowed into the hotel and gathering themselves for the ceremony. A ceremony that would be officiated by a friend of the couple. And this can make the experience so much more intimate for the couple getting married.
More than anything, I was looking forward to having the opportunity to photograph in the new reception room built at Vienna Woods. While the room where the ceremony is held does have a lot of colourful tones and ambience, the new reception area has a more natural light feel. A very nice and natural daylight feel. This adds that bit of nuance to the day.
Soon after, the newly weds took a stroll on the grounds. We were losing the light, but that winter evening tone is undeniable.
A walk back to mingle with their bridal party on that winter evening.
And with that I left them to party the night away.
