I was a guest at a Strand Hotel Wedding in Limerick a few years back. When a relative of mine was married. I even managed to duck out of taking any pictures that day. Which was great
I enjoyed just being a guest for a change. Even as a guest I hardly take any phone pics to be honest. It’s nice to put that away. To just lose myself in the day. Just enjoy it. Have a drink. Chat and mingle. Maybe two drinks. If the mood takes me.
But enough about me. This one is about Laura & Greg. And their wedding at the Strand Hotel. With all that went before it. And with a Springtime wedding, the day was indeed very nice.
Preparations kicked off at Laura’s. Where I met a few friends from previous weddings. With the ceremony following at Ballyorgan Church. The church is surrounding by some absolutely wonderful views. It was my first visit there to this quiet part of the world. It’s a nice little village buried away in Co. Limerick.
Given the previous couple of years of nonsense, it was great to see every mingling. Everyone was in the mood for a good day.
With Ceremony and formalities completed, Laura and Greg led their guests to the local pub for a few drinks. Quite often this gives guests, whether old or new, the chance to meet and greet. To let their hair down. to enjoy the day
And the inviting mood of a pub stop off is always favorable. This is always a great chance for me to grab some candid moments. Given this is what I do best. And often this is one of my favorite parts of the day Due to the relaxed nature at this point of a wedding.
Myself and videographer Colin from Orchid Pictures then followed the newly weds to an old Monastery. A stones throw form the local pub. We went there for a few moments to get some images before heading off to Limerick. Laura & Greg were eager to got the party started. And once at The Strand Hotel the party did indeed begin in earnest.
The relaxed nature of their Strand Hotel Wedding day is certainly reflected in the images.
