A Radisson Blu Wedding Day is what Amy & Dan had planned. An intimate Civil Ceremony. And it was a fine summer’s day, which we don’t get many of here in Ireland.
It was a wonderful day as I made my to Little Island for their wedding ceremony. And their wedding ceremony would take part on the old building on the site. This is a structure with a certain feel to it. With plenty of character.
All the day’s events would happen on site, so I got right stuck in during the pre ceremony preparations. A tight enough space brings every together in the room. So there was plenty of banter going about. For me it is about getting into a rhythm of working and finding a good feel for the space available. And those filling that space.
The Rad Blu is a venue that is bustling, busy, atmospheric. With lovely light particularly coming through the large windows on the staircase where Amy and Dan would have a first look moment.
Often the most challenging of spaces can produce a set of images that will really separate the documentary photographer from everybody else. This is just my opinion of course. But perhaps further to that, the idea of producing a set of unique images, unposed wedding pictures, to the couple is still always vital without any doubt. And this concise set of images sums up the day and my approach in such a venue nicely. So here’s a quick rundown from Amy & Dan’s Radisson Blu Wedding Day
