Niamh & Padraig would wind their wedding at Castlebellingham, but before that there was plenty to cover.
Late August, and a trip to North Dublin. With Skerries being the first port of call for Niamh and Padraig’s wedding on a very fine day. A meeting of Tipp and Dublin which would end up at the lovely Castlebellingham in County Louth. I started with Padraig and his crew. Dressed up all ready to go and with some time to kill as they enjoyed the view. Even kicked about with a football for a bit. Though with a palpable tension in the air.
Getting to the brides house and as usual it was a hive of activity as they buzzed around preparing for the wedding. The bride was in buoyant form as the time drew near to head for the local Skerries Church.
And before heading out on the road for county Louth, a quick jaunt to Skerries beach with the newly weds was the order. They did their stuff enjoying the beautiful day. Strolling on the quiet beach. Then scoffed a couple of ice creams. Then in good time we were back on the road.
It’s a remarkable venue, Castlebellingham, and before we entered the house the happy couple took some time out to enjoy the lawns. And I found a few spots to grab a few essential candid moments. They also laid on some lawn game to keep their wedding party entertained. And of course, with Padraig being a Tipp man, the hurleys were never far away.
The house itself is very well lit. And for me the light was spectacular that day. This provides great opportunities when working in a reportage style. I certainly found the castle to be dynamic. But check it out, a quick rundown from their wedding at Castlebellingham in Co. Louth.
