Amy and Kevin’s wedding had the weather on their side for an Inchydoney beachfront wedding. Taking advantage of the beautiful views and good weather. Quite often planning a wedding where the ceremony will be outdoors will always be a case of wait and see.
Given how inconsistent the weather can be in this country.
I’ve photographed quite a few late summer going into Autumn Weddings. September in particular tends to be a fruitful one for an outdoor ceremony. And one of the busiest months for weddings in general. And yet an outdoor wedding ceremony can be an incredible challenge to photograph.
Space wise they can be a bit unusual. I often wonder if I have to much space to exploit. A brisk breeze or wind when on a cliff edge can bring a challenge too but where’s the fun if there’s no challenge?
Amy & Kevin had luck on their day. Weather wise it was wonderful down in Inchydoney. Clonakilty. So too was the view. And a nice warm day. With a dramatic sky that was giving a little hint early on that it may just pour… but it held off.
The time out the couple took to head for a stroll on the beach with their families and bridal party is a high point. They just wandered around enjoying the beach enjoying the decent weather. I love having the freedom to lock into what’s going on. And they provided me with plenty of moments to capture. Standing back and reacting to what happens is always the way to approach any wedding. And this crew provided me with a lot of opportunities.
Once receiving a warm welcome as they entered the Inchydoney hotel, the newly married couple enjoyed their drinks reception chatting with friends and family. Clearly the mood is very high. Anyway, here’s a little taste from their Inchydoney beachfront wedding day! Captured in a completely candid manner. For me this is the only way.
