Ruth and James would hold their summer wedding between the counties of both Cork and Kerry. Gougane Barra & Dunloe Castle Hotel being the venues for their Wedding Day celebration.
The little chapel at St Finbarr’s at Gougane Barra tends to be a very popular spot. It is always buzzing with tourists. And the church is indeed a very intimate settling for weddings given its size, but a stunning venue given the expansive surroundings of the Shehy Mountains that surround it. Ruth and her party would get ready for her wedding day at the Gougane Barra hotel itself, a hotel with a certain charm to it and one where I have always felt very welcome. I have always loved working there, and chatting with Neil and Katy who run the hotel.
And with the formality of the Wedding ceremony done and dusted it was then on the road and off to the Kingdom of Kerry. But first a quick stroll with the newly weds around the church before they were on their way to Dunloe Castle
But before the newly weds would enjoy the evening with friends and family, they would take a short few minutes to head out toward the Gap of Dunloe for a few candid pics.
And it is a stunning view at the Gap of Dunloe, and of course a very popular one as many take the winding road out there. Navigating the many tourists, and of course the Killarney Jarveys and jaunting cars that frequent this beautiful spot.
And as quick as a flash, Ruth & James were headed to Dunloe Castle Hotel to get right into the thick of it. For me, the light in the reception room was absolutely perfect on this day.
