This is something which has become a bit of a mantra for me. And I suppose because quite often I’m getting sketchy details. Sketchy details at best at times. And if you are seeking a natural wedding photographer then you have certainly nailed down the style you want. There are times, though, when the email enquiry is vague.
Yet I will get an email enquiries that are clear and articulate. Venue, expectations, budget. This clarity gives me a solid idea of who I will be with and for. This client will have a very good idea of my work style and methods. And I am very firm with regards the way I work in that tried and trusted and quite distinctive documentary wedding style. I’m very reluctant to work outside that window. But this is very clear from where ever my work is showcased and highlighted

Getting an idea of who you are is a vital cog in the booking experience. And getting an idea of your day is also vital. I will often ask a few questions regarding a wedding enquiry. Strangely, a high percentage of these rarely get back to me. Which is perplexing to say the least. I’ve gone on record saying that if you do not take your wedding seriously then no one will.
Budget comes into this equation.
First off, every wedding is quite unique. Some clients want that full day experience and everything that comes with it. Others want a quick job which is also great. And over the past couple of years, the what I term a “half day wedding” kind of rules the roost. And while I have a guide for such timings, it helps me to work out a more bespoke package depending on the coverage and hours you may be after
Second, giving me a idea of your day and expectations including how much you’d like to invest means we are half way there to a booking. It tells me that you have really narrowed down what you are looking for.
